National 4-H Week

October 5th is the start of National 4-H Week!

4-H is more than fairs and livestock. It’s hands-on learning in science, health,
leadership, and citizenship. Youth learn by doing, building confidence and skills
that last a lifetime. Ask us how to get involved and grow with 4-H!

We need our communities help with celebrating! Check out the schedule of events:

  • October 6th- Wear Green or 4-H Apparel. Post it on your social media and add the #oc4h so we can find it and share it! Or send us a picture of you and we will post it on our facebook page!
  • October 7th- You can make an even bigger impact for Tennessee 4-H. Thanks to $13,000 in matching funds from Tennessee Farmers Co-op and private donors, online gifts will matched up to $250 per person starting at 8 a.m. central—until matching funds run out. Plus, the four largest online gifts on October 7 will each receive up to an extra $250 match. On October 7th, visit https://tn4hfoundation.org/overton/ to donate to our county! Can’t donate? Share our posts with a reason you love 4-H!
  • October 10th- Do you have any old photos of you participating in 4-H? Share it with us at nmarrero@utk.edu and we would love to share it with the community.
  • October 11th- Is there a volunteer your family adores in 4-H? Send us an e-mail at aande107@tnstate.edu and we would love to post it! If you are a volunteer and love doing it, share with us why so we can also share and inspire others!
