4-H Target SMART Camp

Target SMART camp is a camp for 5th-9th grade 4-H members who are very excited about shooting sports. Download the brochure or read about it below.

Who can attend? 5th-9th Grades; Adults and teens can apply to volunteer.
Who runs the camp? Level III 4-H Volunteers , Agents, Camp Staff, and State 4-H Specialists
When is it? May 27—31, 2024

How much does Target SMART Camp Cost? $360
What does it include? Youth explore all disciplines of Tennessee Shooting Sports: Rifles, Archery, Shotgun, Muzzleloaders, Hunting, and Outdoor Skills. Youth will also have an opportunity to do some traditional camping things like use the 4-H Wildlife Center, Recreation and Nature Studies, Campfires, Crafts, and Games. All meals, shooting sports activities, and a t-shirt are included.
What does it not include? Transportation is not included. Agent can let you know other youth attending to help you carpool. However, from experience, we recommend a family member drop off. There is also a gift shop, canteen, a soda machine, and a craft house. If you have a youth who wants to participate in those activities, we recommend you pack an extra $25. ($10 bill, $5 bill, $5 in $1 bills.
When are things due?
Payment and Registration Forms: May 10th or until camp is full.
Health Forms: May 17th
How can I pay for it? You can pay cash or check to the UT/TSU Extension Overton Office. There are no scholarships designated for this camp. However, members can earn their way by volunteering at Paper Clover Week or by utilizing our donation “Calendar”. Our donation “calendars” help youth visualize how much money they need to attend specific events and encourage family members, friends, and neighbors to help them reach their goals.
What paperwork will I have to fill out?

  • F600-A – Activity and Event Acceptance Form (PDF)- Allows us to give medicine, first aid, take pictures, and send them for emergency care.
  • F834 – Event and Activity Misconduct Management Guidelines– Tells you the general policy and prodcedures for bad behavio
  • F600-M – Parental Consent Form for Self-Administration of Medication– If you have a child on medications, we collect all medications and dispence them at the first aid station. We cannot accept medication outside their original container, expired, or if it does not match their paperwork. One 600-M must be filled out for each medication. When you arrive to the event, you will turn this form in, with the medication, inside a gallon zip lock bag.
  • F600-R – Member Release Form– This form is if you have to pick up and/or return a child early from a 4-H event.
  • Registration Form- Please bring in the below brochure to register.
  • Adults: F600-B – Health History for Volunteer or Paid Staff Members (PDF)- If you are an adult and have been accepted as a volunteer, this is the form you will turn in.
