What does it include? Pioneer Camp is a rustic, I mean RUSTIC, camping experience. It will teach your kids they can survive and thrive without technology or “special” effects. So many say today’s kids don’t get outside enough, that is not the case at this camp. If you want a kid that knows how to cook on a campfire, throw an axe, stomp a creek, and have a good time…this camp is for them!
What does it not include? Transportation is not included. Agent can let you know other youth attending to help you carpool. However, from experience, we recommend a family member drop off. There is no need for a phone, plug, or anything that requires electricity: there is none at camp. You will even have to print directions before you leave!
When are things due?
Payment and Registration Forms: May 20th or until camp is full.
There are 20 male camper spots and 20 female camper spot.
Health Forms: May 20th
How can I pay for it? You can pay cash or check to the UT/TSU Extension Overton Office. There are no scholarships designated for this camp. However, members can earn their way by volunteering at Paper Clover Week or by utilizing our donation “Calendar”. Our donation “calendars” help youth visualize how much money they need to attend specific events and encourage family members, friends, and neighbors to help them reach their goals. They can also pick up a fundraiser packet at the office.
